Strum The Lute

This is the fourth Tai Chi form in the Big 8 Move Set. It is shown below the way a beginner should practice it. As you progress in our system the way you perform the set will change based on which internal skills your are practicing.

1. Begin where we left off in Brush Knee
2. The hands begin to turn over as the body rises.
3. Begin to shift your weight back as the left hand rises.

4. The left hand slides up and out from underneath the right hand.
5. The right hand slides back and down.
6. The palms turn over to face forward and slightly down.

7. Your body and weight sinks into the back leg
8. Finish with all your weight on the right (back) foot. Your left heal lightly touches the ground with the toes up. Left hand is forward at face height. The heal of your hand is forward. The palm faces outward, to the right and slightly down. The right hand is across from your left elbow.
