To Breathe or Not to Breathe… Is that really a question?

Today we tackle another Tai Chi MYTH.

(I should probably start numbering these. There’s so many of them.)

It boggles my mind that this MYTH even exists.

…But apparently there are a number of folks out there, skilled teachers even, who would like you to believe that Breath training is NOT a part of Tai Chi.

“Just breathe naturally and the rest will take care of itself.” – they say.

That’s like saying:

“Just move naturally and the form will take care of itself.”

Kinda like:

“I never lied to you about the other woman, honey. I just never mentioned her.”

Or…

“PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!”

I could go on but I think you get the idea.

So, yesterday I was rendering and uploading more video to our online Tai Chi membership site.

…and it just happened to be several lessons on breath.

  • How to ‘infuse’ the body with breath.
  • How to use and train that in push hands.
  • and how to use the ‘breath infusion’ with a condensing breath to turn Chi in Jing and store it in your bone marrow.

Of course there’s a whole bunch of other info on there about how you can use Tai Chi breathing techniques.

That’s just what I happened to be uploading yesterday.

Oh, and here’s a little free lesson on some beginning Tai Chi breath work:
